Last updated: 2 November 2026
At Devil’s Hill Vineyard, we take great care in producing and preparing our wines. We want them to reach you in excellent condition, whether you’re ordering for yourself, sharing with friends or sending a gift.
Below you’ll find everything you need to know about delivery, returns and refunds.
1. Delivery Information
We aim to dispatch orders promptly and ensure your wines arrive safely.
Our delivery service
| Delivery option | Cost | Estimated delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Standard UK mainland delivery | £7.95 (Free for RG9 Postcodes) | 3-5 days |
| Orders over [£75] | Free | 3-5 days |
Delivery charges and available options will always be confirmed at checkout before you place your order.
Delivery estimates are calculated from the point at which your order is accepted. Working days exclude weekends and UK bank holidays.
During particularly busy periods, such as Christmas, or during adverse weather conditions, deliveries may take longer than expected.
Unless we have agreed a different delivery period with you, your order will be delivered without undue delay and within 30 days of the contract being formed.
If we become aware of a significant delay, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible. Your statutory rights regarding late or failed delivery remain unaffected.
Delivery locations
We currently offer delivery to United Kingdom.
Delivery to certain locations, including remote or offshore addresses, may require additional arrangements or may be unavailable.
We do not currently offer international delivery unless specifically agreed in advance.
2. Age Verification and Alcohol Deliveries
Devil’s Hill Vineyard is committed to the responsible sale of alcohol.
You must be aged 18 or over to purchase or receive our wines.
Because our products contain alcohol:
- An adult aged 18 or over must be available to accept delivery.
- The delivery driver may require suitable photographic identification to verify the recipient’s age.
- Delivery will be refused if the recipient cannot satisfy the required age-verification checks.
- Alcoholic products cannot be left unattended, in a safe place or on a doorstep.
Where applicable, our delivery procedures will follow a Challenge 25 approach, under which recipients who appear under 25 may be asked to provide acceptable proof of age.
If delivery cannot be completed because the recipient cannot meet the disclosed age-verification requirements, we will contact you to discuss the available options.
Reasonable additional delivery costs may apply where properly disclosed and permitted by law.
3. Dispatch and Tracking
Once your order has been prepared and dispatched, we will send a confirmation email.
Where our delivery partner provides tracking information, this will be included in your dispatch confirmation.
Please ensure your delivery address and contact details are accurate when placing your order.
If you notice an error in your delivery details, contact us as soon as possible.
We will try to accommodate changes before dispatch, although changes may not be possible once your order has entered the delivery process.
4. Missed Deliveries
If nobody is available to accept your delivery, our courier may attempt redelivery or provide instructions for arranging another suitable delivery time.
As our products contain alcohol, parcels cannot be left in an unattended location.
If an order is returned to us following unsuccessful delivery attempts, please contact us to arrange redelivery or discuss the available refund options.
Any additional charges will be reasonable, communicated to you and applied only where permitted by law.
We remain responsible for the goods until they have been delivered to you or a person you have nominated to receive them, other than the courier.
5. Damaged or Incorrect Deliveries
We carefully package our wines to minimise the risk of damage during transit.
However, we recognise that breakages and delivery errors can occasionally occur.
If your order arrives damaged, incomplete or incorrect, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Email: info@devilshillvineyard.co.uk
Please include your order number, a description of the issue and, where possible, photographs of the damaged goods or packaging.
If a delivery is visibly damaged, you may refuse to accept it and notify us.
Where wine has arrived damaged, is faulty or has been supplied incorrectly, we will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory rights. This may include a replacement, refund or price reduction.
Where a replacement is unavailable, we will offer an appropriate alternative remedy.
We will arrange collection or cover reasonable return costs where a return is required because of a fault or error for which we are responsible.
We appreciate prompt notification of problems, but reporting an issue outside a particular timeframe does not remove your statutory consumer rights.
6. Returns and Cancellations
We hope you’ll be delighted with your purchase. However, we understand that circumstances sometimes change.
Your right to cancel
If you purchase wine from us online as a consumer, you generally have the right to cancel your order without giving a reason.
You may cancel your order at any time before delivery and up to 14 days after the day you receive your goods.
If your order arrives in separate deliveries, the cancellation period normally ends 14 days after you receive the final item.
To exercise this right, simply contact us by email:
info@devilshillvineyard.co.uk
Please provide your order number and a clear statement that you wish to cancel.
You do not need to provide a reason.
Returning unwanted products
Once you’ve informed us of your decision to cancel, you have a further 14 days to return the relevant products.
Please return the bottles securely packaged to prevent damage during transit.
Returns address:
Devil’s Hill Vineyard, Flowercroft Cottage, Kings Farm Lane, RG9 4JF
Unless the products are faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or we have agreed otherwise, you are responsible for the direct cost of return delivery.
We recommend using an insured or tracked delivery service that accepts alcoholic beverages and glass bottles.
You may inspect the goods as you reasonably would in a shop. If handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature and characteristics reduces their value, we may make a deduction from your refund as permitted by law.
This may include bottles that have been opened or consumed. Your statutory rights in relation to faulty or misdescribed goods remain unaffected.
Certain products, such as genuinely personalised items, may be excluded from the usual cancellation rights where permitted by law. Any applicable exclusion will be explained before purchase.
7. Refunds
Where you exercise your statutory right to cancel, we will refund the price paid for the returned products.
If you cancel your entire order, we will also refund the standard delivery charge you paid to receive it, where applicable.
If you selected a premium delivery service, we are not required to refund the additional amount above the cost of our standard delivery option.
For partial cancellations, the original delivery charge will not normally be refunded unless required by law or agreed otherwise.
Refunds will be processed without undue delay and no later than 14 days after:
- We receive the returned products; or
- You provide satisfactory evidence that you have sent them back,
whichever is earlier.
Where goods have not yet been dispatched or received, we will process an applicable cancellation refund within the period required by law.
Refunds will normally be made to the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise.
We do not charge an administration fee for statutory cancellation refunds.
8. Faulty Wine
Wine is a natural product, and occasionally a bottle may not be in the condition we intended.
If you believe a wine is faulty, please contact us.
Email: info@devilshillvineyard.co.uk
Where possible, please retain the bottle, closure and any remaining wine so we can investigate.
It is helpful if you can provide:
- Your order number.
- The name and vintage of the wine.
- A brief description of the problem.
- A photograph of the bottle or label, if available.
We will assess the issue fairly and provide the appropriate remedy in accordance with your statutory rights.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Customers may have rights to a refund, replacement or other remedy where these requirements are not met.
Your rights concerning faulty goods are separate from the 14-day cancellation period for online orders.
9. Looking After Your Wine
To help maintain the quality of your wines after delivery, we recommend:
- Storing bottles in a cool environment with a relatively stable temperature.
- Keeping wine away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
- Avoiding significant temperature fluctuations.
- Handling and opening sparkling wine bottles carefully, as they are under pressure.
We cannot accept responsibility for deterioration caused solely by inappropriate storage or handling after delivery.
This does not affect your rights where a wine was already faulty or otherwise failed to meet legal quality requirements when supplied.
